You will build scalable detection logic, operationalize threat intelligence, and improve the quality, speed, and effectiveness of security monitoring and response. This is a hands-on technical leadership role for someone who enjoys understanding adversary behavior, analyzing complex security telemetry, and translating emerging threats into practical detection strategies. You will work closely with Security Operations, Threat Intelligence, Incident Response, Security Engineering, and cloud teams to identify and reduce risk across a diverse technology environment. You will help shape the maturity and strategic direction of the Threat Detection program by developing high-quality detection content, improving coverage against known adversary techniques, reducing false positives, and ensuring detections remain effective as the threat landscape and enterprise environment evolve. You will also use AI-enabled security and automation tools responsibly to accelerate threat analysis, detection engineering, documentation, and triage workflows. You will apply sound technical judgment, validate outputs, and ensure that automated recommendations are appropriately reviewed before implementation or operational use., * Architect, develop, implement, and maintain scalable threat detection logic across SIEM, EDR, cloud-native security platforms, and other enterprise security data sources. * Design and tune detection content to identify emerging threats, suspicious activity, adversary behaviors, and indicators of compromise while minimizing false positives and alert fatigue. * Map detections to the MITRE ATT&CK framework to assess defensive coverage, identify detection gaps, and prioritize improvements based on risk and threat relevance. * Operationalize threat intelligence, including indicators of compromise, tactics, techniques, procedures, and vendor intelligence, into actionable detection and monitoring strategies. * Collaborate with Threat Intelligence, Incident Response, Security Operations, and Security Engineering teams to validate detection effectiveness and improve response workflows. * Analyze security logs, alerts, telemetry, and behavioral data from diverse sources to identify patterns, anomalies, and potential malicious activity. * Lead the development and optimization of detection workflows, enrichment pipelines, and automation that improve investigation speed, alert context, and analyst efficiency. * Use AI-enabled security tools responsibly to accelerate detection development, alert triage, threat research, documentation, and hypothesis generation, while validating outputs before relying on them operationally. * Evaluate detection performance through analytics, testing, threat simulations, incident findings, red team results, and operational metrics. * Incorporate findings from incidents, threat hunts, vulnerability intelligence, vendor updates, and adversary research into detection strategies and content improvements. * Partner with Incident Response teams to investigate detection gaps, validate alerts, improve escalation criteria, and strengthen containment and remediation workflows. * Develop and maintain clear documentation for detection logic, data sources, use cases, tuning decisions, investigation procedures, and coverage assessments. * Mentor and support junior detection engineers and analysts by providing technical guidance, feedback, and development opportunities. * Contribute to the strategic direction, operational maturity, and long-term roadmap of the Threat Detection program. * Participate in cross-functional security initiatives, design reviews, and operational-readiness discussions to ensure detection and monitoring requirements are considered early in the development lifecycle. ## Related Videos - [The Cloud is Calling: Answer with In-Demand Skills](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/945-the-cloud-is-calling-answer-with-in-demand-skills) - [JavaScript?
