Observe students and staff to ensure safety, Ability to work with staff, students, parents, and the community ## Description SAU 70 is seeking a talented Systems and Network Administrator who will bring deep technical knowledge and a commitment to customer service to our team. The Systems and Network Administrator will play a key role in maintaining the critical infrastructure in the district, as well as providing support to users in a variety hardware, software, and networking systems. The ideal candidate will have a wealth of technical expertise, as well as being curious, reflective, receptive to feedback, and committed to providing outstanding customer service to everyone in the SAU 70 community., The Systems and Network Administrator is responsible for helping design, install, and maintain the core IT infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, wireless access points, and servers. The Systems and Network Administrator will also work collaboratively to provide support to a variety of software and hardware within the SAU 70 towards the goal of improving the education and operational functions of the district., * Provide support for the effective functioning of a wide range of systems, including Google Workspace for Education, Microsoft 365, SecureW2, VOIP phone systems, PaperCut, etc. * Help administer accounts while managing permissions, Single Sign On, and Multi-Factor Authentication. * Utilize Mobile Device Management (MDM) platforms (e.g., Google Admin Console, Mosyle, Microsoft Intune) to automate OS deployments, enforce compliance policies, and manage student and staff devices. * Serve as a high-level escalation point for complex system disruptions, server downtime, software errors, and hardware issues, conducting root-cause analysis to prevent recurring issues. * Respond to cybersecurity incidents in accordance with the SAU 70 Incident Response Plan. Network Administration: * Work with outside vendors to deploy, configure, and maintain core networking hardware, including enterprise firewalls, switches, wireless access points, and servers. * Ensure the network is consistent and reliable by overseeing networking equipment and making sure each component is operating properly and is up to date with firmware and software patches. * Manage high-density Wi-Fi access points to ensure reliable, high-speed wireless coverage for student 1:1 devices, staff equipment, and guest networks. * Help design, configure, and maintain VLANs to isolate traffic and protect sensitive data. * Configure and maintain secure Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) and remote access policies to enable safe off-site network access for staff and technical vendors. * Design and back up network configurations, implement failover connections, and assist in maintaining business continuity plans for emergency network recovery. * Liaise with Internet Service Providers (ISPs), cabling contractors, and hardware vendors to manage internet circuits, resolve service outages, and oversee infrastructure upgrades. * Maintain up-to-date network diagrams, IP schemes, configuration logs, and hardware inventory to ensure operational transparency. Operations Management: Work with all members of the SAU Tech Team to: * Coordinate the work of Technical Services staff by facilitating and tracking project status; identifying problems and issues; ticket status; allocating appropriate resources; and ensuring that technical support services are completed on schedule and at the highest levels of quality * Assist with system-wide technology purchasing; identify opportunities for improving efficiency, maximizing purchasing leverage, and reducing waste. * Oversee and coordinate efforts of outside vendors to ensure they fulfill their contract obligations and meet the needs of the District. * Provide technical support for the SAU office and backup for school-based technology support teams.
