## About the Role

* Around 8 years experience in network engineering, with a record of at least senior/L3
 * Deep hands-on routing and switching experience, with strong OSPF knowledge
 * Practical experience of both Cisco and Arista hardware
 * CCNP as a minimum, CCIE as a nice to have
 * Experience of multicast configuration and troubleshooting
 * Background in a financial services or similarly regulated environment

Ideal experience:

 * Experience supporting IoT devices on an enterprise network, such as segmentation, routing and ACL design

## Description

Our client is looking for a senior network engineer to strengthen its networking team on an initial 6-month contract. You'll be the escalation point for complex network issues and will take a lead role in delivering changes across a Cisco and Arista estate.

What you'll be doing:

 * Acting as a senior, third-line point of contact for network operations and deployment work
 * Working through difficult faults with packet capture analysis and structured root cause investigation
 * Managing and tuning routing protocols across the estate (OSPF in particular), and configuring and supporting multicast
 * Planning, documenting and delivering network changes in line with formal change approval processes, including Saturday change windows
 * Supporting IoT connectivity from the network side: VLAN design, routing and access control lists
