Responsibilities will relate to understanding the performance parameters of the subject component, identifying methods of conducting qualification testing to ensure compliance with these identified performance parameters, and documentation of test results and certification reports. The Design Engineer also works to ensure manufacturability of new designs in conjunction with Manufacturing Engineering to transition items into production. Design Engineers commonly work closely with assigned customers to ensure all customer needs are addressed and requirements are captured in design documentation. The successful candidate must be "hands on" and able to work both independently and collaboratively, bringing their knowledge of engineering principles and product development approaches to deliver engineering solutions and product improvements. The "hands on" philosophy will include learning to fabricate various SMR product types, conducting physical testing, performing reverse engineering activities, and conducting on-site visits with customers. This position requires the ability to access and work on ITAR-controlled products and technical data. Applicants must be U.S. Persons as defined by ITAR (U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident).
