## About the Role

The following Basic Qualifications are skills that a candidate must possess to be considered for this position:

 * Experience with at least two (2) of following: Unix/Linux System Services, C/C++ Software Development, Object-Oriented Design (OOD), Aircraft Weapons Systems knowledge, or Avionics Modeling / Aircraft Weapon Simulation modeling.

 * Experience with Operating Systems such as Windows, Sun Solaris, Linux or VxWorks (VxSim).

Desired Skills

The following Desired Skills are not required but are those skills that would set a candidate apart from the others:

 * COMET Automated Test Language (ATL), COMET Configuration Management (CM), and Inter-Range Instrumentation Group (IRIG) Chapter-10 Data Recording Standard.

 * F-16 aircraft avionics familiarity.

 * GTK software development tools, Multi-threading, and Inter-Process Communication (IPC) knowledge.

 * Experience with MIL-STD-1553 Multiplex bus protocol.

 * Experience with the 194 bus protocol.

## Description

Plans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities. Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. Ensures software standards are met.
