## About the Role

* Strong hands-on experience with AWS data and database technologies
 * Commercial experience with DynamoDB and Redis/ElastiCache
 * Good understanding of relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server or Oracle
 * Experience designing, building or operating production data/database platforms
 * Experience with cloud migrations, platform modernisation or re-architecting production systems
 * Understanding of the architectural trade-offs between relational, NoSQL, caching and search technologies
 * Experience with Terraform/IaC, CI/CD or infrastructure automation
 * Experience working with scalability, resilience, performance and availability within production environments
 * Strong communication skills and the ability to take ownership of technical problems through to implementation

Experience with RDS/Aurora, OpenSearch/Elasticsearch, CDC/replication, Python, Kafka, S3 or Snowflake would be beneficial, as would experience within FinTech, financial services or another high-volume transactional environment.

This would particularly suit an engineer who has worked in an environment where they've had broad technical ownership and exposure across multiple technologies, rather than being restricted to one narrow area of a data platform.
