Desirable * Degree in a technical subject. * Relevant industry experience. * Experience of experimental diligence and data collection, analysis and interpretation of data. * Experience in use of statistical packages e.g. MiniTab. * Experience of good laboratory practice (GLP). * Working knowledge of adhesives, in particular medical adhesives., Action Orientated Taking on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, and enthusiasm. Communicates Effectively Developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences ## Description The Test Engineer will take ownership for providing lab-based testing expertise supporting the development of new medical devices in a regulated medical device environment. The successful candidate will be principally responsible for conducting and documenting tests on new products using established test protocols. This is an essential aspect of our product development process verifying that products meet specification prior to placing them on the market., * Contribute to the development of new devices, from early-stage product concepts to ready for clinical trial product, in line with Eakin's development strategy, quality system and development processes. * Contribute as a team member to allocated work-streams within development projects, to meet project targets and ensure products meet with customer expectations and operational needs. * Utilise formulation, project and engineering knowledge to draft extracts of reports for review. * Carry out testing of incoming materials and competitor products as required. Providing appropriate reports. * Contribute to all stages of testing activities for development projects, such as the creation of test protocols, analysis of results and report writing. * Document results of the tests carried out in a clear and professional manner. * Liaise with internal colleagues to ensure that testing requirements are understood. * Define experimental method(s) and apparatus, including creation of test protocols, to ensure tests are carried out according to requirements. * Ensure lab test apparatus is calibrated and maintained in operational condition. * Carry out diligent experimental testing to a high standard, in accordance to test protocol. * Ensuring that lab safety protocols are always adhered to. * Ensuring that good laboratory practices (GLP) are always adhered to. * Ensuring that that the lab is clean, tidy and organised.
