This role is for a Senior Engineer specializing in Backend development with Java at BlackRock, focusing on the Aladdin Engineering team within the Investments & Trading Engineering division. As a key contributor, you will be instrumental in building and enhancing the next-generation analytics and reporting systems that underpin BlackRock's investment platform. The position offers an exciting opportunity to work on high-impact projects that handle trillions of dollars in assets, supporting millions of transactions daily across a global user base. You will lead efforts to rearchitect and modernize core services, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability, while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, stakeholders, and fellow engineers. The role demands a combination of technical expertise, leadership, and strategic thinking to deliver innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of the financial industry. This is an excellent opportunity, The Senior Backend Engineer will play a pivotal role within the Analytics & Compliance Engineering team, leading efforts to rearchitect and modernize critical components of BlackRock's Aladdin platform. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying scalable, API-first solutions that enable advanced analytics and reporting capabilities. Leading a team of engineers, you will mentor junior staff, foster collaboration, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality software solutions. Your expertise will be essential in solving complex problems related to large-scale data systems, including data modeling, database optimization, and inter-process communication. You will work closely with product managers and stakeholders to understand requirements, translate them into technical designs, and implement robust solutions that meet performance and security standards.
