## About the Role

Are you passionate about open-source technologies and have a deep understanding of kernel-level systems? If so, joining our team at Nutanix as a Member of Technical Staff - AHV offers the exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of an enterprise-grade hypervisor, working with cutting-edge technologies and making a significant impact on the advancement of our software solution., * 1+ years of experience with a BS/MS in Computer Science or a related field.

 * Strong proficiency in C/Golang/Rust, and Python programming languages
 * knowledge of OS internals, particularly UNIX/Linux
 * Familiarity with x86 architecture, virtualization, storage, and network management
 * Experience developing software for Unix/Linux/BSD operating systems at the kernel level
 * Good understanding of multi-threading, algorithms, and data structures on Linux
 * Strong debugging skills in Linux kernel mode
 * Device driver development experience in Unix/Linux/BSD environments

## Description

At Nutanix, you will be a part of the Acropolis Hypervisor (AHV) team, a group dispersed across the US and APAC regions. AHV is an enterprise-grade hypervisor powering the core Nutanix Cloud infrastructure. The culture is collaborative and proactive, where open communication and teamwork are highly valued. The mission of the team is to ensure the seamless operation of AHV software stack that can effectively support Nutanix's broader technology objectives and deliver exceptional value to our customers.
You will report to the Sr Engineering Manager of the AHV team, who encourages a collaborative and communicative work environment. The manager focuses on aligning team goals with individual career aspirations and emphasizes prompt responses and engagement from all team members.
This role does not require any travel, allowing the new hire to focus on their work in the local office setting without the need for travel commitments.

Your Role

 * Contribute to the development of Nutanix's Acropolis Hypervisor (AHV)
 * Assist with designing and developing new AHV features
 * Maintain and fix issues in the existing AHV codes and features
 * Push for improved reliability, performance, and security of AHV
 * Interact with open source communities
 * Utilize C/Golang/Rust and Python programming languages for development
