The SMT Manufacturing Technician is responsible for machine setup, operation, troubleshooting, quality verification, and continuous improvement activities to ensure efficient production of printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs). A Day In The Life * Set up, operate, and monitor SMT production equipment, including solder paste printers, pick-and-place machines, reflow ovens, and inspection systems. * Perform machine changeovers, program verification, and first-article inspections. * Troubleshoot equipment and process issues to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules. * Conduct routine preventative maintenance on SMT equipment. * Verify material availability and ensure proper component loading and feeder setup. * Inspect PCB assemblies for quality and conformance to specifications. * Monitor production yields and identify opportunities for process improvements. * Maintain accurate production, quality, and maintenance records. * Follow IPC standards, work instructions, safety procedures, and company policies. * Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve manufacturing issues. * Assist with new product introductions (NPI) and process validation activities. ## Related Videos - [The Billion Dollar Machine: First Time Right.](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/393-the-billion-dollar-machine-first-time-right) - [What If Apps Built Themselves?
