The right person will bring a solid technical foundation, a genuine interest in expanding their capabilities, and the maturity to support colleagues across the organization., * Bachelor's degree in a STEM-related field (such as Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline) or an equivalent combination of relevant education and professional experience. * Two or more years of professional experience across one or more relevant areas, including IT support, systems administration, automation, software development, data management, or cybersecurity. * Experience supporting end users in a professional environment, including the ability to diagnose problems, communicate clearly, and follow issues through to resolution. * Experience in financial services, asset management, or another highly regulated environment is preferred, but not required. * Microsoft certifications such as Azure Administrator, Security, Identity and Access Administrator, or similar are a plus. Technical Foundation * Working knowledge of common hardware, software, networking, and endpoint-support concepts. * Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and interest or experience in Microsoft Azure administration and configuration. * Exposure to security and compliance tools such as Microsoft Entra, Purview, Defender, multifactor authentication, endpoint protection, email security, or backup systems. * Familiarity with Windows endpoint management, device imaging, patching, and user-access administration. * Experience with, or a strong interest in learning, scripting for automation using PowerShell, Python, Bash, or a similar language. * Familiarity with Git, source control, branching, and code-review practices. * Exposure to DevOps concepts, including continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), deployment pipelines, and tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar platforms. * Exposure to SQL Server administration, data-quality checks, data movement between systems, or related data-management work is helpful. * Familiarity with cloud architecture, Docker, Kubernetes, or virtualized environments such as vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V is a plus-not a requirement. * Interest in AI tools and an understanding that effective enterprise AI use requires sound security, confidentiality, governance, and practical judgment., * You bring the judgment, initiative, and interpersonal presence to grow into increasing responsibility and leadership within the department. * You are naturally curious and want to understand not only what a system does, but how and why it works. * You are comfortable asking thoughtful questions, researching independently, testing solutions carefully, and incorporating feedback. * You take ownership of your work, follow through on commitments, and know when to escalate an issue or ask for help. * You can prioritize competing requests and remain organized in a role that includes both immediate support needs and longer-term improvement projects. * You communicate technical information in a clear, patient, approachable way with people at all levels of the organization. * You follow established procedures, notice when they no longer serve the business well, and respectfully propose better ways of working. ## Description River Road Asset Management is seeking a curious, service-oriented IT Support & Automation Specialist to help support the technology that keeps our firm running while contributing to automation, data management, AI, and technology-improvement initiatives. We are not looking for someone who already knows everything. We are looking for someone with technical curiosity, sound judgment, initiative, and a strong sense of ownership; someone who communicates well, approaches problems thoughtfully, follows through, and looks for practical ways to make technology and processes better. We value candidates who bring practical experience and a willingness to share ideas, learn continuously, and contribute to a collaborative technology environment. This hands-on opportunity is ideal for an early-career professional with experience in one or more areas such as IT support, systems administration, scripting, data management, cybersecurity, or software deployment. You will work directly with associates, No two days will look exactly alike. You may help a colleague resolve a technology issue in the morning, support a data or automation project in the afternoon, and document or improve a process before the day ends. IT Support & Operations * Serve as a first point of contact for associates experiencing hardware, software, connectivity, account-access, or other technology issues. * Troubleshoot and resolve common desktop, application, networking, and security-related issues; communicate progress and next steps clearly to affected users. * Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, and related technology equipment. * Support employee onboarding and offboarding through account setup, access changes, and equipment coordination. * Maintain accurate inventories of hardware and software assets. * Help monitor system and network performance, software licensing, patching, backups, and upgrade schedules. * Assist with maintaining and improving IT policies, procedures, technical documentation, and internal knowledge resources. * Partner with internal subject-matter experts and external technology providers to escalate and follow through on more complex issues. Automation, DevOps & Data Support * Help build and maintain scripts, workflows, and pipelines that reduce manual work and improve reliability. * Support source control repositories, code-review practices, and deployment processes for internally developed tools. * Assist with the deployment, monitoring, documentation, and ongoing support of production software and internal technology solutions. * Contribute to the firm's data management efforts, including routine data movement, data-quality checks, and process documentation. * Help identify recurring issues or inefficient processes, then recommend practical improvements. * Use scripting, generative AI, and other approved tools thoughtfully to accelerate work while following security and data-governance requirements.
