## About the Role

The qualifications needed for this position include:

 * BS Computer Engineering or Computer Science Required, MS Computer Engineering Preferred
 * Minimum of 6 years of work experience with C/C++ and Qt.
 * Minimum of 3 years of related work experience in the field of aircraft avionics
 * Minimum of 1 year of work experience with a Real Time Operating System
 * Active DoD Secret security Clearance

As a Software Engineer, Journeyman, you will:

 * Develop software for aircraft autopilots and associated avionics systems.
 * Participate in ground and flight testing of the developed systems.

A week in the life of a Software Engineer, Journeyman includes:

 * Design, develop, document, test and debug software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions for aircraft autopilots and associated avionics.
 * Confer with systems engineers, aerospace engineers, electrical engineers, developers and others to design systems and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces.
 * Integrate hardware / software in our System Integration Lab (SIL)
 * Participate in ground and flight testing of the developed autopilot and avionics systems.
 * Develop software using C/C++ and the Qt framework.
 * Develop avionics software in a hard real-time environment.
 * Develop avionics software in accordance with DO-178C.
 * Ensure software standards within our AS9100D quality management system are met.
