## About the Role

On-site in Norfolk, VA Our client seeks a mission-oriented junior System Administrator with 1-3 years of experience to provision, install, configure, and maintain IT systems and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems, networking fundamentals, and security best practices., * 1-3 years of experience as a System Administrator or similar role

 * Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems
 * Experience with networking protocols and devices (routers, switches, firewalls)
 * Familiarity with Active Directory and Group Policy
 * Understanding of security best practices and compliance standards
 * Ability to work independently and as part of a team
 * Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, * Certification in CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+
 * Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
 * Knowledge of scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash, or Python)
 * Experience with virtualized environments (VMware or Hyper-V)

Clearance Requirements:
Active Secret clearance required. Ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance may be required for certain tasks.

## Description

* Provision, install, configure, and maintain servers, workstations, and network devices
 * Manage user accounts and access controls
 * Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues
 * Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions
 * Support remote users and manage telecommuting tools
 * Assist with security assessments and vulnerability scans
 * Document system configurations and procedures
 * Collaborate with other IT team members on projects
