## About the Role

* Enterprise experience administering and developing on the Salesforce platform, including configuration, security, data models, automation, deployment, troubleshooting, and platform governance
 * Hands-on experience with Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flow, SOQL, REST and SOAP APIs, JSON, XML, web services, automated testing, source control, and CI/CD practices
 * Ability to design reliable Salesforce solutions and integrations and assess the strengths, limitations, security considerations, and operational impacts of different approaches
 * Experience supporting production applications or integrations, including monitoring, incident response, root cause analysis, and release validation
 * Strong communication, documentation, collaboration, mentoring, troubleshooting, and vendor-management skills
 * Ability to work with product owners, analysts, developers, cybersecurity, infrastructure, vendors, and business teams to deliver secure and reliable enterprise solutions, * Salesforce certifications such as Administrator, Platform App Builder, Platform Developer I/II, Integration Architect, or related credentials
 * MuleSoft certifications such as MuleSoft Developer or MuleSoft Integration Architect
 * Knowledge of MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, API-led connectivity, integration standards, API lifecycle management, and reusable integration patterns
 * Experience maintaining or modernizing legacy and existing integration platforms such as BizTalk, Azure API Management, or similar enterprise integration technologies
 * Experience with Salesforce integrations, MuleSoft integrations, enterprise API management, or integration platforms in a utility, public-sector, regulated, or complex enterprise environment
 * Experience creating technical documentation, architecture diagrams, integration runbooks, support procedures, and platform standards

## Description

Colorado Springs Utilities' CRM and Integration team is hiring a Salesforce Platform & Integration Lead! In this job, you will be the Salesforce Application, Development and Integration Lead and serve as the organization's lead technical expert for Salesforce administration, Salesforce development, and enterprise integrations. This role will help shape how Salesforce and integration services support customer service, field operations, billing-adjacent processes, and other critical utility workflows across our four-service utility.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role. The person in this position will administer and optimize the Salesforce platform, design and develop scalable solutions, guide secure integration patterns, and provide technical direction to developers, analysts, vendors, and business partners. The role will also help maintain existing integration platforms such as BizTalk and Azure API Management while supporting the long-term transition of appropriate integration capabilities to MuleSoft. The right candidate will be comfortable solving complex problems while also setting standards that improve reliability, security, maintainability, and reuse.

A day in the life of a Salesforce Platform & Integration Lead may include:

 * Administering and optimizing Salesforce environments, including users, roles, profiles, permission sets, sharing, data quality, configuration, releases, and platform health
 * Designing and developing Salesforce solutions using declarative capabilities and custom development, including Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flow, SOQL, integrations, and automated testing
 * Providing technical leadership by reviewing solution designs, mentoring team members, guiding troubleshooting efforts, and helping establish standards for Salesforce and integration delivery
 * Defining Salesforce solution architecture, integration patterns, engineering standards, and release practices that improve security, scalability, maintainability, and reuse
 * Using MuleSoft knowledge to evaluate, design, and support API-led integrations between Salesforce, cloud platforms, third-party services, and on-premises applications, while helping plan the migration of appropriate legacy integrations to MuleSoft over time
 * Maintaining and supporting existing integration capabilities, including BizTalk, Azure API Management, web services, REST and SOAP APIs, JSON, XML, orchestration tools, source control, and automated testing frameworks
 * Supporting production operations, including monitoring, incident response, root cause analysis, release validation, service reliability, and communication with business partners during issues or outages
 * Applying secure design practices, including least privilege, data protection, authentication, authorization, auditability, change control, and integration governance
 * Building internal, external, and third-party supplier relationships to ensure commitment and support for Salesforce applications, MuleSoft integrations, API services, and related enterprise platforms, * Salesforce solutions and integrations are stable, secure, supportable, and aligned to business needs
 * APIs and integrations follow reusable patterns, reduce one-off solutions, and improve long-term maintainability
 * Existing BizTalk, Azure API Management, and related integrations remain reliable during the transition while clear migration plans are developed and executed where appropriate
 * Production issues are resolved quickly, root causes are addressed, and recurring problems are reduced over time
 * Documentation, runbooks, release practices, and support procedures are clear enough for others to operate and maintain the environment
 * Data quality, platform governance, and change control improve across Salesforce and connected systems
 * Business partners, vendors, and technical teams have confidence in the direction, reliability, and support model for Salesforce and integration services

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

 * Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (1/3 of the time), and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, or pull objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary only if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other criteria are met.
 * Positions in this class typically require talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions within an office working environment.
