* 3 years of C++/C# software development experience

 * Experience in controlling mechanical and electrical systems

 * Experience in motion control, motion tuning, DIO

 * Experience in semiconductor capital equipment development desired

 * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent

 * Willingness to travel internationally up to 20%

## Description

Onto Innovation is seeking a Software Engineer III to join our team in Wilmington, Massachusetts location. This role is part of teamdeveloping our next-generation proprietary semiconductor capital equipmentused in inspection and metrology for advanced packaging applications, including AI and other emerging technologies.

Specialized Expertise

This position requires deep technical knowledge and hands-on experience inMotion control systems for precision equipment

Key Responsibilities

 * Translate customer and product requirements into functional specifications

 * Design and implement algorithms for defectdetection and metrology

 * Design and implement software for motion control sub-systems

 * Motion profile tuning

 * Conduct design verification and system-level integration testing
