You'll turn design files into responsive, well-built sites, set up analytics and tracking, and handle technical SEO. After launch, you'll maintain those sites, fix issues, and answer client questions about their site, domain, and email. It's a good fit for a developer who cares about the details of a build and is comfortable talking with clients who aren't technical., Development: Build responsive websites from design files, with close attention to detail, animation, and interaction. Write clean, maintainable code that others on the team can pick up. Work with design throughout the build so the finished site matches the design. Test sites across browsers and devices and fix issues before launch. Analytics & SEO: Set up GA4, Google Tag Manager, Search Console, and conversion tracking on every site, and check that it works before and after launch. Handle technical SEO at the code level: semantic HTML, metadata, schema markup, redirects, and page speed. Build landing pages and URL structures that support paid media and tracking. Monitor Core Web Vitals and performance, and fix problems as they come up. Pull basic traffic and performance reports and flag anything that looks off. Site Maintenance & Client Support: Handle client website requests, including content changes, outages, email and domain questions, and login issues. Keep clients updated on the status of their requests. Make domain, DNS, and email record changes. Run routine maintenance: plugin and app updates, broken link checks, form testing, uptime monitoring, and backups. Track domain and hosting renewals. Maintain records for each client site: registrar, hosting, DNS, CMS access, third-party tools, and contacts. Write simple how-to guides for clients and the studio. Planning & Improvement: Recommend post-launch improvements based on analytics and performance data. Run performance audits and technical health checks for retainer clients. Give technical input on proposals, scoping, and estimates when needed. Not Responsible For Creative direction or design decisions. Digital marketing strategy or paid media campaigns (may support technical setup). Internal IT or office tech support. What Success Looks Like Sites match the design, launch on time, and need few fixes after launch. Every site launches with analytics and tracking set up and working. Client requests are handled quickly and accurately. Client sites are kept up to date, and issues are caught before clients notice them. Clients and the studio trust the data being reported. Sites are built so they can grow without major rebuilds. ## Related Videos - [Innovating Developer Tools with AI: Insights from GitHub Next](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1268-innovating-developer-tools-with-ai-insights-from-github-next) - [Boost Productivity with AI: Figma & Playwright MCP Workflows - Aris Markogiannakis](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1768-boost-productivity-with-ai-figma-playwright-mcp-workflows-aris-markogiannakis) - [The Resilience of the World Wide Web](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1281-the-resilience-of-the-world-wide-web) - [Kill Your WordPress.
