More important is being curious, comfortable dealing with customers and keen to learn. ## Description You don't need years of experience for this one. You might have 6-12 months working within IT support with some exposure to networking, broadband faults, routing and switching, or you could be a Computer Networks graduate looking for your first proper opportunity. The important thing is that you understand the basics, enjoy troubleshooting and genuinely want to develop your networking knowledge. Day to day You'll be supporting customers when they experience technical issues with their broadband or connectivity. That means taking the initial call, asking the right questions, carrying out first-line diagnostics and trying to resolve the fault yourself. Where something is more complex, you'll gather the relevant information and escalate it to the 2nd/3rd line or field engineering teams while keeping ownership of the case. You'll get exposure to FTTP, broadband faults, networking and network monitoring tools, giving you a good foundation to develop further within technical support and networking. ## Related Videos - [An Applied Introduction to eBPF with Go](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1075-an-applied-introduction-to-ebpf-with-go) - [Creating a routing app with Google Maps API from scratch](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/831-creating-a-routing-app-with-google-maps-api-from-scratch) - [Distributed search under the hood](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/256-distributed-search-under-the-hood) - [Turning Container security up to 11 with Capabilities](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/718-turning-container-security-up-to-11-with-capabilities) - [A Technical Introduction to Bitcoin's 2nd Layer- The Lightning Network](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/15-a-technical-introduction-to-bitcoin-s-2nd-layer-the-lightning-network) - [Trends, Challenges and Best Practices for AI at the Edge](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/630-trends-challenges-and-best-practices-for-ai-at-the-edge) ## Related Articles - [Where to Find Entry-Level Software Engineering Jobs](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/397-where-to-find-entry-level-software-engineering-jobs) - [IT Salaries in UK](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/288-it-salaries-in-uk) - [System change: restart as developer?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/39-system-change-restart-as-developer) - [Finding IT & Technology English-speaking Jobs in Germany ](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/446-finding-it-technology-english-speaking-jobs-in-germany) - [Where To Find Software Engineering Jobs](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/396-where-to-find-software-engineering-jobs) - [7 Important Tips That Every Software Developer Should Know](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/101-7-important-tips-that-every-software-developer-should-know)
