## About the Role

Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer within enterprise scale financial services environments.

 - Strong AWS cloud experience.
 - Hands on experience with Kubernetes.
 - Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines.
 - Strong understanding of deployment automation and release management.
 - Experience working with GitHub and modern source control practices.
 - Knowledge of cloud security, patching and platform maintenance.
 - Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
 - Experience working across both technical and business-facing teams.

## Description

Hays are now looking for a DevOps Engineer for a Financial Services client to support and enhance its cloud based technology platforms:

 * £450 - £500 p/d Inside IR35
 * 2-3 days p/w in the office, the rest is WFH
 * Location is near Reading / Basingstoke
 * Initial assignment through to December 2026 with strong likelihood of extension to the end of 2027

Overview

This role sits at the intersection of technology and business, requiring someone who can combine strong technical expertise with excellent stakeholder engagement skills. You will work closely with development teams, business stakeholders and third-party suppliers to deliver secure, scalable and reliable solutions across modern AWS environments.

The successful candidate will be instrumental in driving deployment automation, cloud platform management and DevOps best practice across two strategically important products hosted within AWS and Kubernetes environments.

Key Responsibilities

 - Design, build and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure and platform services.
 - Support and optimise CI/CD pipelines, ensuring efficient and reliable code deployments.
 - Work closely with development teams to improve automation, deployment processes and release management.
 - Manage and maintain Kubernetes based environments.
 - Drive DevOps best practices across infrastructure, deployment and operational processes.
 - Collaborate with outsourced delivery and support providers.
 - Ensure solutions comply with internal governance and change management processes.
 - Support platform patching, upgrades and security remediation activities.
 - Contribute to infrastructure reliability, performance and scalability initiatives.
 - Act as a technical bridge between business and technology teams, providing clear communication and stakeholder management.
