Ofgem is on an ambitious transformation journey. Within the Digital, Data and Security Services (DDSS) directorate, we are delivering a broad portfolio of digital, data and AI initiatives. A key component of this is the Salesforce Centre of Enablement (CoE), which drives the development of Salesforce-based services that modernise business processes and improve data quality and service delivery. As a Lead Developer (Salesforce), you will play a critical role in shaping the technical delivery of Salesforce solutions across Ofgem. You will provide hands-on leadership to development teams, setting standards, guiding design decisions and ensuring delivery of high-quality, secure and scalable applications. You will work closely with architects, product managers and delivery teams to translate requirements into robust technical solutions, while fostering a culture of best practice and continuous improvement., You will be responsible for: * Leading the design, development and delivery of Salesforce solutions, leveraging platforms such as Service Cloud and Public Sector Solutions. * Setting technical direction and coding standards, ensuring solutions are scalable, maintainable and aligned with enterprise architecture. * Overseeing the development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing and deployment, ensuring adherence to best practice and governance standards. * Defining and implementing test strategies, including automated testing approaches using tools such as Playwright, BrowserStack and Azure DevOps. * Ensuring the quality, security and resilience of Salesforce applications through code reviews, assurance processes and testing standards. * Managing integrations between Salesforce and external systems, using APIs and middleware to support seamless data exchange. * Collaborating with stakeholders across product, architecture and delivery teams to translate business needs into technical solutions. * Driving continuous improvement in development practices, including DevOps integration, automation and modern engineering approaches. * Providing technical assurance and oversight of supplier and systems integrator delivery, ensuring adherence to standards and frameworks. * Mentoring and developing developers, contributing to capability building and the wider engineering community., At Ofgem, we expect our staff to carry out their roles with honesty, fairness and openness.
