## About the Role

* Strong experience in embedded software testing (OEM / Tier 1 / similar)
 * Good knowledge of embedded C/C++ and firmware testing on bespoke hardware
 * Test lifecycle experience (requirements strategy execution reporting)
 * Scripting / automation using Python (or similar)
 * Working understanding of functional safety and ISO 26262
 * Comfortable producing clear engineering documentation (test specs, reports, work instructions)
 * Automotive networks & diagnostics: CAN/CAN-FD, UDS, OBD, J1939 (FlexRay beneficial)
 * Confident communicator with internal and external stakeholders
 * Engineering/Science degree (or equivalent experience)

Nice to have

 * UML/SysML exposure; model-based tools (e.g., Simulink/TargetLink)
 * Experience testing BMS, inverters, DC/DC, onboard chargers
 * Automotive SPICE awareness; calibration/diagnostic tool experience

## Description

Join a leading automotive & electrified powertrain organisation to own testing and validation of embedded software across inverter/motor control, BMS, and charging systems. You'll lead test activity from requirements through to bench/system validation, supporting safe, production-quality releases.
What you'll do

 * Lead embedded software test delivery to programme timescales
 * Define test strategy, plans and specifications; execute and report results
 * Run bench / HIL / system integration testing and practical validation
 * Debug issues, investigate defects, and support root-cause analysis
 * Validate safety-related behaviour in line with ISO 26262
 * Work closely with controls, hardware and systems teams, plus customers/suppliers
 * Mentor junior engineers and drive good testing/documentation practice
