The successful candidate will bring strong software development lifecycle (SDLC) experience gained within the insurance sector, and will be capable of managing a technical team with clear structure, consistent standards and strong delivery discipline, ensuring the team is firmly aligned behind agreed business priorities, process, and governance., * Proven track record managing a technical configuration, development or systems team, ideally within general insurance or regulated financial services. * Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), including Agile/Scrum sprint delivery, environment management (Dev/UAT/Test/Prod) and release/change control. * Experience managing system configuration or development work supporting insurance products (e.g. policy administration, rating, underwriting rules, claims). * Demonstrable people management experience - performance management, coaching, and handling difficult conversations or conflict within a team. * Strong stakeholder management skills, comfortable working with both technical staff and non-technical business stakeholders. * Good working knowledge of data handling/upload processes (user, organisation and reference data) and associated data quality controls. * Excellent organisational skills, with experience running a backlog, prioritising competing business demands, and reporting on delivery. * Recognised formal qualification or accreditation relevant to Agile/SDLC delivery or people management (e.g. Scrum Master/Product Owner certification, PRINCE2, ILM/CMI management qualification) or equivalent demonstrable experience gained in a formal management capacity elsewhere. * Experience recruiting, onboarding and building out a technical team, including defining roles, interviewing and structuring team capability., * Direct hands-on or management experience with the Sapiens IDIT policy administration platform - this is a significant advantage. * Experience working within an insurer, broker or insurance software vendor environment. * Familiarity with insurance product lifecycle - product build, rating, documents, and regulatory/compliance considerations (e.g. FCA requirements). * Experience with ITIL-aligned incident/problem management for production support issues. * Minimum 1 years' experience in a formal line management role, with direct responsibility for objective-setting, performance management, appraisals and HR processes for a technical team. * Experience gained across more than one employer/organisation, ideally including exposure to more than one insurance policy administration or configuration system, demonstrating breadth beyond a single platform or business., * A confident, fair, and consistent people manager who leads by example and sets clear expectations. * Comfortable making and holding firm decisions, and confident setting clear direction for the team. * Strong communicator, able to translate business need into technical delivery and vice versa. * Calm under pressure, particularly when managing production issues or conflicting priorities. * Pragmatic and solutions-focused, balancing business process knowledge with the need for governance and consistency. * Committed to team development, knowledge-sharing and succession planning within the team. ## Description We are seeking an experienced Team Manager to lead our in-house Sapiens IDIT Configuration and Development team.
