You should care about visual detail, typography, spacing and presentation while also thinking carefully about the person using the website. You should be comfortable taking ownership of projects, identifying problems independently and explaining the reasoning behind your design decisions. You should also be capable of working directly with senior management and translating wider business objectives into practical digital solutions. ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE * Professional experience in web design, UI/UX design or a closely related digital-design discipline. * Strong understanding of user-interface design. * Strong understanding of user-centred design and user experience. * Experience designing customer-facing websites. * Experience creating wireframes, mock-ups, page structures or prototypes. * Understanding of responsive web design. * Ability to design effectively for desktop and mobile environments. * Strong visual-layout and typography skills. * Understanding of ecommerce customer journeys. * Ability to organise complex information clearly. * Experience using professional interface-design software. * Strong attention to detail. * Good analytical and problem-solving ability. * Ability to manage multiple design priorities. * Confidence presenting and explaining design decisions. * Ability to work independently and take ownership of a defined business function. * Strong written and verbal communication skills. DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE Experience in any of the following would be particularly useful: Fashion · Womenswear · Retail · Ecommerce · Figma · Shopify or comparable ecommerce platforms · Website CMS systems · HTML/CSS · User testing · Website accessibility · Conversion optimisation · Digital analytics · Prototyping · Design systems · Fashion imagery · Ecommerce merchandising Previous fashion experience would be advantageous, but we are primarily interested in somebody who can demonstrate the ability to create thoughtful, polished and commercially relevant digital experiences. ## Description Reporting directly to the Director, you will take responsibility for the design, structure and user experience of Nouvelle Très Belle Robe's customer-facing website and ecommerce environment. This is a dedicated digital-design role combining web design, user-interface design, user experience, ecommerce presentation and digital visual design. You will review how customers currently interact with Nouvelle online, identify opportunities to improve their journey and translate those findings into thoughtful, practical design solutions. Your work will directly influence how customers discover Nouvelle, explore our collections, understand our products and move from initial interest through to purchase. We are looking for somebody who can combine strong visual judgement with customer-focused thinking and commercial awareness. WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR * Designing and continuously improving Nouvelle Très Belle Robe's customer-facing website. * Creating clear, visually consistent and commercially effective webpage layouts. * Designing homepage experiences, collection pages, product pages, campaign pages and other customer-facing areas. * Improving website navigation, information hierarchy and product discovery. * Designing responsive digital experiences that work effectively across desktop, tablet and mobile devices. * Producing wireframes, page structures, mock-ups, user flows and interactive prototypes where appropriate. * Reviewing existing customer journeys and identifying unnecessary complexity or friction. * Improving the journey from initial product discovery through browsing and purchase. * Developing consistent digital standards for typography, spacing, imagery, navigation, buttons, cards and interface components. * Helping establish a reusable design system so future Nouvelle digital work remains consistent. * Supporting the presentation of new collections, seasonal campaigns, featured edits and product launches. * Improving the way products and collections are presented within the ecommerce environment. * Reviewing website behaviour and available analytics to identify opportunities for improvement. * Using evidence and customer behaviour to support design decisions. * Researching relevant developments in ecommerce, web design and UI/UX. * Reviewing relevant fashion and ecommerce experiences to understand changing customer expectations. * Testing interfaces across different devices and screen sizes. * Identifying layout, usability and responsive-design issues. * Preparing clear specifications and briefs where technical implementation requires support from developers or external specialists. * Presenting design recommendations clearly to the Director and explaining the reasoning behind significant changes. FASHION & ECOMMERCE Nouvelle is a fashion business, so how our products are presented digitally matters. The successful candidate will help develop the way customers experience individual products, complete collections, new arrivals and seasonal campaigns online. You will consider areas including product imagery, typography, spacing, visual hierarchy, collection structure, navigation and information presentation. The customer journey should feel natural from beginning to end: Discovery * Collection * Product * Decision * Purchase You will help identify opportunities to make this journey simpler, more attractive and more effective. You may also create dedicated digital experiences for new collections, occasion wear, seasonal edits, promotions, featured products and future product categories., You will use these observations to develop practical improvements rather than making changes simply for appearance., You will review how customers interact with the website, monitor relevant design and ecommerce developments and identify opportunities to improve the Nouvelle experience. You will test proposed designs before and after implementation, review how they perform across different devices and refine them where appropriate.
