## About the Role

* Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence or a related discipline.
 * 5+ years of commercial experience in Backend Engineering, Data Engineering or Machine Learning Engineering.
 * Expert-level Python development skills.
 * Commercial experience with Machine Learning, NLP or AI platforms.
 * Experience productionising machine learning models at scale.
 * Strong experience designing RESTful APIs and microservices using frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask or Django.
 * Experience working with SQL and relational databases, including performance optimisation.
 * Experience designing cloud-native solutions within AWS and/or Azure.
 * Strong understanding of distributed systems and scalable architectures.
 * Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and containerised deployments.
 * Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and Infrastructure as Code.
 * Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
 * A passion for mentoring and developing other engineers.

## Description

* Design, build and maintain scalable AI data pipelines and processing workflows.
 * Develop cloud-native backend systems and scalable microservices.
 * Partner closely with Data Scientists to productionise Machine Learning, NLP and Generative AI models.
 * Build and optimise RESTful APIs for AI model serving.
 * Monitor system reliability, model performance and observability across production environments.
 * Drive best practices across CI/CD, automated testing, Infrastructure as Code and MLOps.
 * Improve system integration and interoperability across enterprise platforms.
 * Support internal and external consumers of AI services and APIs.
 * Translate evolving business requirements into scalable engineering solutions.
 * Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership within the team.
 * Contribute to architectural decisions and influence engineering standards.
