This role is responsible for end-to-end application delivery, spanning user interface development, backend services, APIs, microservices, and containerized cloud deployments. The ideal candidate understands how federal security and compliance requirements directly influence application architecture, code design, deployment pipelines, and operational practices, and is able to deliver solutions through a DevSecOps pipeline without introducing security or technical debt. The developer will work directly with government clients, stakeholders, and occasionally end users to define requirements, translate business and HR-focused needs into technical solutions, and implement high-quality, maintainable code. Responsibilities include developing and modifying application logic using .NET Core and Angular/TypeScript, building and integrating RESTful APIs and microservices (including Golang-based services), and deploying applications using containerized architectures on Azure Government platforms. This role requires active participation in DevOps and DevSecOps practices, including CI/CD pipeline development, automated testing, security scanning, configuration management, and infrastructure-aware application design. The developer is expected to design applications with security, compliance, scalability, and performance in mind from the outset, including awareness of STIG requirements, logging, auditing, identity management, and data protection controls that are critical in federal HR environments. ## Related Videos - [Security Pitfalls for Software Engineers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/726-security-pitfalls-for-software-engineers) - [Go with the Flow: Stop the Leaks Before Your Memory's a Waterfall!](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100073-go-with-the-flow-stop-the-leaks-before-your-memory-s-a-waterfall) - [Shifting Stress to Progress— Understanding DevOps to do DevOps Better](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/268-shifting-stress-to-progress-understanding-devops-to-do-devops-better) - [Building Multi-Tenant ASP.NET Core Applications: Best Practices and Real-World Solutions](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1552-building-multi-tenant-asp-net-core-applications-best-practices-and-real-world-solutions) - [Navigating the Corporate Jungle: Life as a Developer in a large Company](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/621-navigating-the-corporate-jungle-life-as-a-developer-in-a-large-company) - [Scoring 2000 Products per Request: Performance Pitfalls in Golang](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/2073-scoring-2000-products-per-request-performance-pitfalls-in-golang) ## Related Articles - [What Are The Top Skills Required For Azure Developers?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/77-what-are-the-top-skills-required-for-azure-developers) - [Dev Digest 120 - Apple and peers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/455-dev-digest-120-apple-and-peers) - [Why Upskilling And Reskilling is Important For Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/428-why-upskilling-and-reskilling-is-important-for-developers) - [Why Attend a Developer Event in 2026?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/688-why-attend-a-developer-event-in-2026) - [Best Coding Boot Camps in Germany](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/237-best-coding-boot-camps-in-germany) - [Fullstack developer salary in Germany [2023]](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/197-fullstack-developer-salary-in-germany-2023)
