Working at the intersection of superconducting materials, quantum-device fabrication, interface engineering, and advanced materials characterization, you will develop and study thin-film processes using the Molecular Foundry's QIS cluster tool, with particular emphasis on Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) and Atomic Layer Etching (ALE). You will investigate how material composition, purity, interfaces, and fabrication conditions influence superconducting-device performance, turning those insights into improved processes, publishable research, and collaborative advances for the Quantum Systems Accelerator and Molecular Foundry scientific community. We're here for the same mission, to bring science solutions to the world. Join our team and YOU will play a supporting role in our goal to address global challenges! Have a high level of impact and work for an organization associated with 17 Nobel Prizes! You will: * Combine the in-process data, room temperature materials characterization, and low temperature material and device performance into fundamental datasets characterizing the key materials properties and process parameters that lead to highly performant superconducting materials and device designs. * Develop ALD and ALE recipes for material interface improvement on the QIS cluster tool at the Molecular Foundry. * Collaborate with other Foundry scientific staff members to provide scientific support for users and create and participate in collaborative research efforts beyond the single laboratory effort. * Prepare scientific data for publication in refereed journals; and present findings at seminars and conferences. * Maintain a safe working environment and demonstrate respect for environmental protection, health and safety, and help instill those aspects in all staff and users of the Nanofabrication Facility. * Provide technical direction to graduate students and undergraduate students as appropriate. * Mentor students and collaborators in rigorous experimental design, reproducible nanofabrication practices, and safe use of laboratory and cleanroom equipment. ## Related Videos - [Quantum Computing - The tiny and the big challenges](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/934-quantum-computing-the-tiny-and-the-big-challenges) - [Alibaba Big Data and Machine Learning Technology](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/37-alibaba-big-data-and-machine-learning-technology) - [Implementing continuous delivery in a data processing pipeline](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/73-implementing-continuous-delivery-in-a-data-processing-pipeline) - [Schroedinger's cat: Thinking in- and outside the box of quantum mechanics](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/216-schroedinger-s-cat-thinking-in-and-outside-the-box-of-quantum-mechanics) - [Walking into the era of Supply Chain Risks](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/376-walking-into-the-era-of-supply-chain-risks) - [Why and when should we consider Stream Processing frameworks in our solutions](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1085-why-and-when-should-we-consider-stream-processing-frameworks-in-our-solutions) ## Related Articles - [How We Built a Worry-Free System That Runs for 10+ Years – And What We’d Do Again](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/751-how-we-built-a-worry-free-system-that-runs-for-10-years-and-what-we-d-do-again) - [Dev Digest 121 - AI goes offline](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/456-dev-digest-121-ai-goes-offline) - [Résumé-Driven Development: How IT trends affect the job market for software developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/59-resume-driven-development-how-it-trends-affect-the-job-market-for-software-developers) - [Wonder Women in Tech](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/702-wonder-women-in-tech) - [Best US AI Conferences for CTOs in 2026: Build vs. Buy, Vendor Evaluation, and Peer Intelligence](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/736-best-us-ai-conferences-for-ctos-in-2026-build-vs-buy-vendor-evaluation-and-peer-intelligence) - [Top 6 Hackathons for Developers in 2023](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/263-top-6-hackathons-for-developers-in-2023)
