## About the Role

* Experience in functional software testing, preferably within financial services, mortgage, lending, or fintech.
 * Strong understanding of test planning, test case development, execution, and defect management.
 * Experience with Jira or similar defect tracking tools.
 * Experience testing data-driven applications and backend processes.
 * Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into effective test scenarios.
 * Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
 * Experience with SQL/database validation is a plus.
 * Mortgage, loan origination, or borrower verification experience is highly desirable.

## Description

We are seeking a Functional Tester to join a Quality Assurance team supporting Fannie Mae. This role focuses on borrower validation testing, ensuring that applications, data, and workflows used to verify borrower information are accurate, secure, and reliable.
Responsibilities

 * Execute functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing for borrower validation systems.
 * Test workflows involving income, credit, employment, and identity verification.
 * Create and execute detailed test cases and scenarios based on business and technical requirements.
 * Identify, document, and track defects with clear steps to reproduce using Jira or similar tools.
 * Work closely with developers, business analysts, and product owners to understand requirements and develop comprehensive testing strategies.
 * Validate business rules and ensure application functionality aligns with established Fannie Mae guidelines and regulatory requirements.
 * Create, manage, and validate backend test data to support loan origination and borrower verification testing.
 * Verify data flows and integrations across applications and systems.
 * Support regression testing following application enhancements, fixes, and releases.
