## About the Role

* B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent
 * Proficiency in one or more programming languages and common data structures / algorithms
 * 2+ years of software engineering experience developing backend applications or services.
 * Experience with Java or another modern object-oriented programming language.
 * Experience building and consuming REST APIs.
 * Experience working within cloud environments, preferably AWS.
 * Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern software development practices.
 * Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals, object-oriented design, and system architecture.
 * Ability to write production-ready code with moderate supervision
 * Ability to design systems of moderate complexity
 * Ability to conduct code reviews and give sign-off for code merges
 * Strong communication skills. You must be able to work with cross-functional partners to gather requirements and explain outcomes
 * Strong product sense. You must be able to align your work with business objectives and make appropriate tradeoffs
 * Learning mentality. You must be able to pick up new skills as needed and demonstrate a curiosity about new technologies

## Description

* Design, develop, and maintain applications and services using Java and cloud-based technologies.
 * Build and support REST APIs and backend services that enable critical business functionality.
 * Develop solutions that support fleet utilization, inventory optimization, and operational decision-making.
 * Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders to define requirements and deliver solutions.
 * Utilize modern engineering tools, including AI-assisted development platforms such as GitHub Copilot and Cursor, to improve development velocity
 * Design, implement and maintain applications that can be high-volume and low-latency
 * Contribute to all stages of software development lifecycle
 * Analyze user requirements to define business objectives
 * Envisioning system features and functionality
 * Develop and test software
 * Identify and resolve any technical issues arising
 * Create detailed design documentation
 * Propose changes to current infrastructure
 * Develop technical designs for application development
 * Write well designed, testable code
 * Conducting software analysis, programming, testing, and debugging
 * Support continuous improvement, investigating alternatives and technologies, and presenting for architectural review
