We prefer: * In-depth architectural understanding of autonomous vehicle systems, including sensor suites, compute platforms, power distribution, harness design, chassis communications (CAN/Ethernet), vehicle actuation, and drive-by-wire controls. * Deep familiarity with modern automotive mechanical, electrical, and functional safety (ISO 26262) architectures and vehicle control systems. * Advanced working proficiency with C/C++ and Python for test automation, diagnostic development, and system analysis. * Mastery of laboratory diagnostics and prototyping equipment, including high-bandwidth oscilloscopes, DMMs, protocol analyzers, and specialized hand tools. Hardware Engineering is an innovative and collaborative group of electrical, mechanical, reliability, software and vehicle engineers. We design, build, and perfect the products which are the eyes and ears of Waymo's autonomous driving technology, and integrate those products into vehicle platforms. We're seeking curious and talented teammates to keep us moving in the right direction. This role follows a hybrid work schedule and reports to Systems Integration Manager.
