* Strong commercial experience with Ruby and Ruby on Rails.
 * Professional experience with other backend technologies, such as Node.js, Python, Java, or .NET.
 * Strong experience with PostgreSQL/MySQL and database optimisation.
 * Experience with REST APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
 * Experience with Redis, Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar backend technologies.
 * Experience with Docker, CI/CD, and at least one cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
 * Strong testing experience with RSpec, Minitest, or equivalent.
 * Good understanding of Git, software architecture, security, and performance optimisation.

 * Help build and regularly ship software as part of a professional software engineering team.
 * Develop and maintain backend applications using Ruby and Ruby on Rails.
 * Design and develop RESTful APIs and backend services.
