## About the Role

* Hands-on experience in technical pre-sales, consultancy, or engineering, ideally with data-native or high-growth technology companies.
 * Proficiency in a core programming language such as Python, SQL, Scala, or Java, and a willingness to learn (or existing knowledge of) Spark.
 * Familiarity with a core data or AI domain: modern data engineering, streaming, machine learning, or Generative AI (e.g. RAG, fine-tuning, LLMOps).
 * Experience with the modern data stack and open-source data tooling, and with at least one major public cloud (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
 * Hands-on expertise in designing and delivering proofs-of-concept (PoCs).
 * Enthusiasm for building with AI-based development tooling such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Databricks Assistant / Genie.
Pre-Sales & Customer-Facing Skills:

 * Proven ability to engage customers in a technical sales capacity: building a narrative, challenging assumptions, finding the real pain, and driving to a clear, tangible outcome.
 * Comfort communicating both technical and business value to diverse audiences, from engineers to founders and executives.
 * A customer-centric mindset with a passion for building client relationships and internal partnerships with account teams.
 * Energized by a high-velocity, new-logo motion and comfortable with ambiguity rather than a fixed account set.
Logistics:

 * Ability to commute to the London office regularly.
 * Willingness and ability to travel approximately 20-30% of the time across UK&I for customer visits.
Nice to Have:

 * Experience selling to or working at start-ups, scaleups, or ISVs.
 * Databricks or other relevant Cloud/Data certifications.
