Technical Skills * Knowledge of industrial control and SCADA platforms; Inductive Automation Ignition experience is preferred. * Experience with SQL databases, queries, and custom database solutions. * Ability to read, modify, create, and document scripts using Python, SQL, C, C++, or related languages. * Understanding of process historians, dashboards, reporting tools, virtual infrastructure, and PLC interfaces. * Knowledge of industrial communications, including Ethernet/IP, Modbus, SNMP, gateways, routers, and wireless systems. * Basic understanding of industrial instrumentation used to measure level, flow, pressure, and other process conditions. * Strong troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and teamwork skills. * Ability to explain technical information clearly to engineers, operations employees, and vendors. Preferred Certifications * Inductive Automation Ignition Core or Gold Certification. * Candidates without these certifications must have the interest and ability to pursue them during employment. * A valid Indiana driver's license is required when operating a City vehicle. Work Environment This position includes a combination of office-based computer work and occasional work within active utility facilities. Employees may encounter industrial equipment, electrical systems, chemicals, weather conditions, elevated areas, and moderate noise. What You'll Do As the SCADA System Analyst I - Software Specialist, you will help develop, support, and improve the software behind City Utilities' industrial control systems. You will work alongside engineers and operations staff to maintain SCADA applications, databases, process historians, dashboards, data pipelines, and virtualized operational technology infrastructure.
