Good interpersonal skills * Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot hardware and software problems on desktops * Ability to: + lift and carry 10-25 pounds frequently and 40 pounds occasionally + complete projects within deadlines + plan, organize and prioritize workloads, manage details of multiple projects simultaneously, and work within a team environment Preferred: * Basic understanding of Microsoft Active Directory management including group policy * Ability to navigate collections and packages via SCCM * Previous academic support is strongly preferred * Knowledge of: + workstation/user administration within a LAN environment + web design and maintenance desirable + multiple operating systems ## Description The Desktop Support Specialist is responsible for coordinating and providing technical support services to faculty and staff. Coordinate services to install, upgrade, and support use of hardware, software, peripheral devices, and other technologies; develop and implement new uses of information technology to enhance academic, instructional, and research activities.
