You will act as a technical voice and advocate for developer communities while also feeding real-world insights back into product and engineering teams. The position blends hands-on software work with communication, documentation, and public speaking across global audiences. You will engage directly with contributors, users, and ecosystem partners to improve tooling, workflows, and adoption of open source technologies such as Ubuntu. Working in a highly distributed, remote-first environment, you will collaborate across time zones with engineers, product managers, and community leaders. This is a highly visible role where technical credibility and communication skills are equally important. Accountabilities: Engage actively with developer communities across forums, events, social platforms, and open source channels to gather feedback and strengthen relationships. Collaborate with internal engineering, product, and marketing teams to align developer experience improvements and technical messaging. Produce high-quality technical content including documentation, blog posts, tutorials, reference architectures, and presentations. Deliver talks, workshops, and conference sessions to represent developer needs and promote best practices in open source software development. Identify gaps in developer tooling and workflows, proposing and validating improvements with engineering teams.
