Agent guide: [/agents.md](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/agents.md). --- # Lunar Operations Training Engineer - III - **Company:** Blue Origin - **Location:** Van Horn, TX, United States - **Experience:** Expert - **Salary:** $121,023.0 - $169,432.0 - **Contract:** Permanent contract - **Skills:** Computer-Aided Design, Systems Engineering, Biometrics, Network Interface Controllers, Hardware Design, Software Engineering, Software Requirements Analysis, Verification and Validation (Software), Systems Integration, Atlassian Tools, Creo, Data Generation - **Published:** September 29, 2026 - **Apply:** https://diversityjobs.com/main/sendform/8/8/28176/1/18454106?backUrl=%2Fcareer%2F18454106%2FLunar-Operations-Training-Engineer-Iii-Texas-Van-Horn ## About the Role * Minimum of a B.S. degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent professional experience. * 5+ years of relevant experience, demonstrating established professional expertise in operations, systems engineering, or project management. * Demonstrated ownership of projects from requirements definition through delivery, including experience with system-level integration and test activities (e.g., Test Readiness Reviews). * Ability to work independently on problems of varied scope with minimal oversight, exercising sound technical judgment to resolve issues. * Highly organized, with a demonstrated ability to self-manage and execute complex technical projects. * Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum., * Established professional expertisein understanding and applying engineering fundamentals across the development cycle (requirements, design, fabrication, V&V, and test). * Demonstrated experience in public speaking, delivering technical instruction, or mentoring junior team members. * Experience in instructional design or delivering training for high-consequence operations. * Experience with the design, build, or operation of human-interfacing systems, high-fidelity mockups, simulators, or complex training hardware. * Experience with human-in-the-loop testing and test procedure development. * Familiarity with simulation architecture or the software development lifecycle. * Experience working directly with NASA, other government agencies, or commercial human spaceflight partners. * Proficiency with project management tools such as Jira and Confluence. * Experience with CAD file generation and manipulation, especially in Creo ## Description * Lead project management efforts for training hardware development, providing key input to scope, schedule, budget, and milestones from concept through commissioning. * Serve as the primary technical and programmatic point of contact between the Mission Operations Training Team and internal/external engineering development teams and vendors. * Use your technical understanding of spacecraft functions to independently determine and translate training objectives into clear, verifiable technical requirements for mockups, courses, and software. * Collaborate with key contacts outside your own team (systems engineering, structures, crew systems, avionics, etc.) to ensure training product and hardware designs meet fidelity and functionality requirements. * Oversee the verification and validation (V&V) of training hardware, ensuring it meets its intended purpose for training effectiveness and human-in-the-loop testing. * Own operational documentation for your projects, including project plans, interface control documents, test procedures, and operational manuals. * Own the requirements, development, and execution of spaceflight mission training events using a variety of media including, instructor-led training, mission rehearsals, and hardware demonstrations., Applicants for employment at Blue Origin must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e. current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S.as a refugee or granted asylum.
