Qualifying experience is calculated to the full-time equivalent (pro-rated if less than 40 hours/week ). ## Description With supervisor approval, incumbents may be eligible for intermittent remote work; however, they must physically reside within the Sacramento region or have the ability to regularly report to a City of Sacramento physical worksite with little notice. This position is in the Utilities Support System Division (DOU SS) of the Information Technology (IT) Department. This position manages the department's customer billing system, Oracle Customer Care and Billing (CC&B) system. The duties of this position include supporting the CC&B system production, working with business users, analysts, and other IT teams, designing, developing, and administering applications and systems to enhance business processes, documenting system procedures, mentoring junior staff and providing after-hour application support as needed. This position reports to the lead software application developer or an IT Supervisor., Plans and manages information technology related projects involving critical applications, large systems and sophisticated processes. - Provides team leadership, guidance, business, and technical expertise on assigned projects involving citywide computer systems. - Designs and/or creates database structures, data migration/conversion techniques for system(s) conversions or upgrades. - Monitors and tunes databases in order to obtain optimum performance. - Applies analytical and advanced design techniques in developing new programs or systems or modifying existing ones. - Codes and/or tests programs and resolve related problems in large, complex systems. - Provides technical guidance to lower-level IT personnel and contractors through training, mentoring, and coaching. - Performs other or related duties as assigned. ## Related Videos - [You’re a great coder?
