FSS is on a mission to make financial statement review error-free, fast, and intelligent for over 500,000 auditors worldwide. We're building the next generation of FSS: a web-based, AI-powered experience where intelligent agents prepare and check financial statements, and auditors review, correct, and sign off with confidence. You'll help lead that shift, working primarily on the backend and our AI agent services, and contributing to the React web experience where it all comes together. This is a hands-on senior role for someone who loves to build, sets a high quality bar, and wants to shape how a product is architected, not just implement it. You'll work closely with product, design, and fellow engineers, mentor the people around you, and use AI to move fast without cutting corners. About DataSnipper Audit and finance are still massively manual - and we're changing that. DataSnipper is a $1B, bootstrapped unicorn with 600,000+ users across 180+ countries, already embedded in the daily workflows of top audit and accounting firms. Now, we're taking things further with our Excel Agent - bringing AI directly into where the work actually happens. Unlike generic AI tools, we don't sit on the sidelines. Our AI operates inside Excel, with access to real documents and audit evidence - meaning it doesn't just generate answers, it does the work, with full traceability., * Design and build production APIs and services, primarily in Python and C#, that power financial statement review workflows. * Develop AI-powered agents and workflows that automate the preparation and checking of financial statements, integrating LLMs and document-understanding pipelines. * Contribute to the React web front end, where auditors review, correct, and approve results. * Keep results trustworthy by pairing LLMs with deterministic checks, correctness is never left to guesswork. * Integrate with Azure and its AI services. * Implement security controls aligned with OWASP and OWASP GenAI security guidance., * Architect services and systems using well-established design principles, anticipating future use cases. * Write robust, production-ready code that anticipates edge cases, unit, integration, and end-to-end tests are part of the deliverable, not an afterthought. * Raise the engineering bar through high-quality code reviews, technical mentorship, and establishing best practices. * Diagnose complex issues across services and use operational data to drive stability improvements. * Participate in the on-call rotation and stay accountable for what you ship. Collaboration & Impact * Break down epics, align dependencies, and help the team navigate ambiguity. * Partner with product managers and designers to shape solutions, refine the roadmap, and simplify technical approaches. * Foster a culture of documentation and knowledge sharing within the team and with business stakeholders. * Use AI-assisted engineering effectively and responsibly, critically evaluating AI output and helping the team adopt it well. * Mentor engineers and contribute to hiring, onboarding, and levelling up the team., * Ownership: You take features from refinement to production and stay accountable through bug-bashing, on-call response, and follow-ups. You don't wait to be told what to fix. * Growth Mindset: You actively seek and give feedback, and treat reviews and pairing sessions as a chance to grow rather than to defend. * Collaboration: You build trust with product, design, QA, and fellow engineers; you ask good questions and share context generously. * Adaptability: You feel comfortable in a fast-changing scale-up environment, priorities shift, scope sharpens, and you help the team adjust. * Judgment: You balance speed and quality, know when to push back, when to ship pragmatically, and when to escalate. ## Related Videos - [Watch Tests Go Brrrr! : Getting Started with Cypress in ReactJS](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/282-watch-tests-go-brrrr-getting-started-with-cypress-in-reactjs) - [Developing the Backend with Stefan Lingler, CTO at Shpock](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100360-developing-the-backend-with-stefan-lingler-cto-at-shpock) - [Docker Compose: Rediscovered](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1978-docker-compose-rediscovered) - [From Messy Queries to Scalable Systems - How Data Engineering actually works](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100203-from-messy-queries-to-scalable-systems-how-data-engineering-actually-works) - [Meet Your New BFF: Backend to Frontend without the Duct Tape](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/682-meet-your-new-bff-backend-to-frontend-without-the-duct-tape) - [Nest.js - TypeScript in the backend can also be clean](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1033-nest-js-typescript-in-the-backend-can-also-be-clean) ## Related Articles - [Software Developer Salary in The Netherlands [2023]](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/217-software-developer-salary-in-the-netherlands-2023) - [The Netherlands – Europe’s powerhouse for software development?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/31-the-netherlands-europe-s-powerhouse-for-software-development) - [The Most Popular IT Jobs on the Market](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/376-the-most-popular-it-jobs-on-the-market) - [How to Find Tech Jobs in Amsterdam](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/279-how-to-find-tech-jobs-in-amsterdam) - [Dev Digest 120 - Apple and peers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/455-dev-digest-120-apple-and-peers) - [Where To Find Software Engineering Jobs](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/396-where-to-find-software-engineering-jobs)
