## About the Role

* Experience as a Backend Engineer in product-oriented environments, ideally at scale and/or in regulated contexts
 * Strong backend fundamentals: API design, data modeling, testing, performance, resilience and operability
 * Experience building backend services with a statically-typed language and framework (e.g. C#/.NET, Java, Kotlin, Go), including event-driven architectures
 * Ability to own solutions end-to-end, from design to production and continuous improvement
 * Product-minded, collaborative, and comfortable working in small, autonomous, cross-functional teams
 * Strong sense of ownership, pragmatism, and continuous learning mindset
 * Experience working with relational databases (RDBMS), SQL, and ORMs

Nice to have

 * Hands-on experience specifically with .NET (C#) and messaging brokers and frameworks such as RabbitMQ, Apache Kafka, or NServiceBus
 * Specific experience with PostgreSQL
 * Experience containerizing services and deploying them through CI/CD pipelines to Kubernetes (we use GitLab CI/CD and Octopus Deploy)
 * Experience with real-time or high-concurrency systems (e.g. live odds, in-play betting, event-driven traffic spikes), or an interest in the sports betting / iGaming domain
 * Comfortable owning the observability of what you build - instrumenting, alerting, and monitoring your services in production (we use Datadog)
