Preferred Certifications * CCNP Collaboration * ITIL Foundation (for alignment with change/governance processes) Soft Skills * Exceptional documentation and understanding skills (HLD/LLD, diagrams, design decisions). * Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders. * Strategic mindset with focus on standardization, simplification, and long-term scalability. ## Description and documents the complete UC ecosystem following enterprise architecture principles. UC Architecture & Strategy * Define the end-to-end UC architecture covering CUCM, Unity Connection, CUBE, SIP infrastructure, UCCE, and Webex CC. * Drive the UC roadmap aligned with business transformation and cloud migration strategies. * Own the dial plan architecture, intercluster routing, numbering plan normalization, and cross regional governance. * Lead design decisions for resiliency, HA, clustering, security, and SIP interoperability. Design & Documentation Ownership * Produce and maintain HLDs (High-level Designs) and LLDs (Low-level Designs) for UC & Contact Center environments. * Document SIP call flows, integrations, trunking models, SBC logic, failover behavior, and overall service dependencies. * Ensure alignment with existing design frameworks (SME/ILS, Webex CC routing logic, SBC universal call flow models). * Maintain architecture landscapes including CUCM clusters, Unity clusters, voice gateways, SBCs, UCCE components, and Webex CC tenants. Steering & Governance * Act as architectural authority for all UC projects, changes, and new deployments. * Review engineering designs and ensure consistency with standards and blueprint models. * Collaborate with architects, network teams, security, and vendors to ensure integrated design governance. * Evaluate new technologies, versions, and upgrade paths (e.g., CUCM, UCCE, Webex CC platform evolution). SIP, CUBE & Interoperability Leadership * Define SIP standards, normalization rules, routing logic, and QoS models. * Architect CUBE deployments (centralized, distributed, or hybrid) and enforce SBC governance patterns. * Specify security requirements, transport settings, encryption models, and interworking design guidelines. Contact Center Architecture (UCCE, Webex CC) * Architect integrations between CUCM, CUBE, UCCE, and Webex CC using standardized SIP SBC frameworks. * Provide guidance for queueing strategy, routing logic, skill mappings, hours of operations, failovers, and cloud interconnectivity. Technical Leadership * Steer engineering teams by providing architectural guidance, design reviews, and implementation oversight. * Act as the escalation point for complex design related issues. * Ensure documentation, configuration standards, and architectural decisions are respected across regions., Because we are counting on innovative solutions, sustainable actions, connected thinking and on you, become a part of our formula for success and develop the future with us - in a global team that embraces diversity and equal opportunities irrespective of gender, age, origin, sexual orientation, disability or belief. At BASF, we are committed to upholding and ensuring compliance with company standards related to quality, environment, health, safety, and energy, in line with our global guidelines. We actively promote a culture of prevention and continuous improvement, encouraging collaboration in initiatives related to quality, environmental protection, health, safety, and energy performance. We foster responsible energy use, promoting efficiency in daily operations and supporting the identification of improvement projects and energy-saving opportunities. ## Related Videos - [How Cisco embraced a DevOps culture within its network engineering team](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/99-how-cisco-embraced-a-devops-culture-within-its-network-engineering-team) - [Unlocking the potential of Digital & IT at Vodafone](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/602-unlocking-the-potential-of-digital-it-at-vodafone) - [Creating a routing app with Google Maps API from scratch](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/831-creating-a-routing-app-with-google-maps-api-from-scratch) - [Getting under the skin: The Social Engineering techniques](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/38-getting-under-the-skin-the-social-engineering-techniques) - [We (don't) need a software architect!?!](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/663-we-don-t-need-a-software-architect) - [A Technical Introduction to Bitcoin's 2nd Layer- The Lightning Network](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/15-a-technical-introduction-to-bitcoin-s-2nd-layer-the-lightning-network) ## Related Articles - [Spanish Business Culture and Etiquette](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/353-spanish-business-culture-and-etiquette) - [The CAMARA Project: How Telcos Collaborating Improves Developer Experience](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/671-the-camara-project-how-telcos-collaborating-improves-developer-experience) - [What Makes WeAreDevelopers World Congress Different From Every Other Tech Event?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/701-what-makes-wearedevelopers-world-congress-different-from-every-other-tech-event) - [5 Reasons Why Attending Conferences in 2026 Matters More Than You Think](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/692-5-reasons-why-attending-conferences-in-2026-matters-more-than-you-think) - [Dev Digest 121 - AI goes offline](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/456-dev-digest-121-ai-goes-offline) - [What Are The Top Skills Required For Azure Developers?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/77-what-are-the-top-skills-required-for-azure-developers)
