## About the Role

IMPORTANT: Applicants must have previous hands-on technical experience supporting or administering Aareon QL alongside practical SQL experience. Experience using Aareon QL solely as an end user will not meet the requirements of this position., * Hands-on experience supporting or administering Aareon QL

 * Practical experience using SQL, including writing and troubleshooting queries
 * Previous Application Support, Systems Support or Business Applications experience
 * Experience diagnosing and resolving application issues
 * Experience working with relational databases
 * Experience supporting business-critical systems
 * Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
 * Experience working with users and third-party software/support providers
 * Excellent communication skills

The client also requires experience supporting complex IT environments, relational databases, application issues and third-party service providers., Please note: experience simply using Aareon QL as an end user will not be sufficient. Candidates must have technical, hands-on experience supporting, administering, configuring or troubleshooting the application alongside SQL experience.

## Description

This is a specialist position supporting and maintaining the organisation's core business and housing applications. The successful candidate must have proven hands-on experience with both Aareon QL and SQL., Working within the IT team, you will be responsible for ensuring business-critical applications remain available, reliable and effectively supported., * Providing 2nd-line support for business and housing applications

 * Supporting, maintaining and troubleshooting Aareon QL
 * Investigating application incidents and recurring system issues
 * Using SQL to query, analyse and troubleshoot application data
 * Configuring system fields, workflows and other application changes
 * Managing application patching, upgrades and lifecycle maintenance
 * Supporting testing and implementation of application releases
 * Monitoring application performance, availability and capacity
 * Investigating root causes and implementing appropriate fixes
 * Liaising with users, internal IT teams and third-party software suppliers
 * Maintaining technical documentation and knowledge-base information
 * Supporting incident, problem, change and release-management processes

These responsibilities closely reflect the client's requirement for 2nd-line application support, technical problem solving, application maintenance, system changes and release management.
