## About the Role

If you have a strong background in IBM Mainframe technologies and financial services, we'd love to hear from you., * 10+ years of IBM Mainframe development experience.

 * Strong hands-on experience with COBOL and CICS.
 * Experience with Assembler (HLASM).
 * Strong JCL and Batch Processing experience.
 * Experience with Easytrieve / Easytrieve+.
 * Experience with IBM MQ / WebSphere MQ.
 * Experience with VSAM, DB2, TSO/ISPF, and SDSF.
 * Strong debugging and production support experience.

Required Domain Experience

Must have experience in Banking or Financial Services with Debit Card Processing, including one or more of the following:

 * Debit Card Authorization
 * ATM Transaction Processing
 * POS Transaction Processing
 * Card Services / Card Issuing
 * Payment Processing Systems
 * ISO 8583 messaging (preferred)

Preferred Qualifications

 * Experience working with large banking clients or payment platforms.
 * Experience supporting mission-critical financial transaction systems.
 * Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

## Description

We are seeking a Senior Mainframe COBOL Developer with strong Debit Card / Payment Processing experience to join a long-term project with M&T Bank. This is a fully remote opportunity for an experienced mainframe professional who has worked on high-volume banking transaction systems supporting debit card authorization and batch processing., * Design, develop, enhance, and maintain COBOL batch and online applications on IBM z/OS Mainframe.

 * Support debit card processing applications used for ATM and Point-of-Sale (POS) transactions.
 * Develop and maintain COBOL, CICS, JCL, Easytrieve, and Assembler programs.
 * Work with IBM MQ for messaging and transaction processing.
 * Analyze production issues, troubleshoot batch failures, and provide timely resolutions.
 * Collaborate with business analysts, testing teams, and application support teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
 * Participate in code reviews, testing, deployment, and production support activities.
