Agent guide: [/agents.md](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/agents.md). --- # System Designer - **Company:** COLORADO CONTROLS - **Location:** Fort Collins, CO, United States - **Experience:** Experienced - **Salary:** $74,880.0 - $104,000.0 - **Contract:** Permanent contract - **Skills:** Desktop Publishing, Desktop Computing, Microsoft Office, Control Structures, Tablet Computers - **Published:** September 10, 2026 - **Apply:** https://www.indeed.com/viewjob?jk=8f5cf23e3fe55929 ## About the Role * Minimum of two (2) to four (4) years of commercial/industrial HVAC controls or building automation system engineering and design experience. * Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Industrial Technology may be substituted for up to two years of experience. * Experience with computer aided controls and HVAC design. * Proficiency with various desktop publishing tools and industry specific system design software. * Operating knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office Software. * Work proficiency with computers and hand-held devices such as smart phones, tablets, etc. * Good working knowledge of controls and HVAC designs and packages for HVAC and Lighting systems monitored and controlled by building automation systems from Unitary Systems to Central Plants. * Ability to read, analyze, and interpret blueprints, specifications, and controls drawings. * Good working knowledge of mechanical code. * Valid Colorado driver's license with no major traffic violations, suspensions, or DUI's in previous 5 years. * No current or pending Workman Compensation Claims. * Must successfully complete background check, drug screen, physical conditions of employment job screen, and team interview as condition of employment. * Self-starter with attention to detail. * Neat appearance accompanied with good listening and communication skills in order to communicate clearly with customers, fellow technicians, support staff, and supervisory personnel. * Working knowledge of personal protective equipment and safety practices. * Ability to work in diverse conditions including but not limited to mechanical equipment rooms with exposure to noisy operating equipment, exposure to extreme weather conditions on rooftops, outside of buildings, crawlspaces, attics, and other types of confined spaces. * Perform physical work that requires the regular use of fingers, hands, walking, stooping, and kneeling. * Regularly lift or move up to 10lbs and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50lbs. * Occasionally work from either a step ladder, extension ladder, or man lift with no fear of heights. * Demonstrate strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to problem solve. * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. * Demonstrate an on-going willingness to continue education through available company and industry sponsored training. * Good work ethic and the desire to advance professionally and personally. * Demonstrate good customer service skills, verbal and written communication skills, and mechanical aptitude. * Ability to maintain a positive, willing, and trainable attitude. * Ability to get along with and work well with people on all levels. * Work some flexible hours on occasion depending on Control System access requirements., * Can you independently read and interpret HVAC/mechanical plans, controls drawings, project specifications, and sequences of operation?
