## About the Role

* Strong hands-on experience with COBOL, JCL, CICS, and VSAM, covering both batch and online transaction processing.
 * Prior experience executing mainframe-to-distributed modernization projects.
 * Working knowledge of Java and Python.
 * Relational database experience: Oracle preferred, with DB2 familiarity helpful.
 * Familiarity with Control-M, IBM MQ/MQ Series, and tools referenced as EZTrieve/EXTRACT.
 * Proficiency with AI coding assistants/agents is required, with examples discussed including Windsurf, GitHub Copilot, and CodeWhisperer.

## Description

* Analyze the existing mainframe codebase, workflows, and dependencies.
 * Support component-by-component migration to Java/Python and migration of VSAM data to relational databases, as applicable.
 * Contribute to both BAU and modernization scrums. BAU work includes fund/client onboarding and process changes.
 * Support POCs involving file access, concurrency, and relational database patterns.
 * Provide U.S. time zone coverage, including late-day ET overlap and occasional issue triage.
