## About the Role

Essential

 * Previous experience in a technical, engineering, installation or field service role.
 * Strong fault-finding and problem-solving ability.
 * Good mechanical and electrical understanding.
 * Ability to read and understand technical drawings and wiring diagrams.
 * Confident communicating with customers both face-to-face and by telephone.
 * Ability to work independently and manage a field-based workload.
 * Good organisational and time-management skills.
 * Full UK driving licence.
 * Willingness to travel throughout the UK and stay away from home when required.
 * Good IT skills and ability to use email, CRM/order systems and Microsoft Office.

Desirable

 * Experience with industrial high speed doors, automated doors, or similar products.
 * Experience with electrical control panels and motor/control systems.
 * Experience in installation, commissioning or field service.
 * Experience dealing with B2B customers and installation companies.
 * Experience preparing quotations or identifying spare parts.
 * Knowledge of relevant industrial door, machinery or electrical safety requirements., * Customer focused - committed to resolving problems and providing excellent service.
 * Practical - able to diagnose problems and find workable solutions.
 * Technically minded - comfortable dealing with mechanical, electrical and control issues.
 * Professional - able to represent BMP Doors UK positively in front of customers.
 * Commercially aware - able to recognise opportunities to support sales and grow the business.
 * Self-motivated - capable of working independently while keeping the office informed.

## Description

The Field-Based Technical Support Engineer will provide technical support to BMP Doors UK trade partners, installers and the internal sales and office teams.

The role will be primarily field-based and will involve attending customer sites to assist with technical difficulties, fault finding, diagnostics, commissioning and installation support. The successful candidate will also provide telephone and remote technical assistance to customers and the office team.

Working closely with the sales team, the role will help identify technical solutions for customers, support the successful installation and operation of BMP Doors products, and help develop new and existing business opportunities.

The role will also be responsible for preparing parts requirements and quotations, liaising with the factory to order components, and ensuring customers receive the correct technical support and replacement parts.
