The role holder must have: * The role holder must have or be eligible for DV (STRAP) vetting clearance * Strong understanding and experience of Tier 1 cloud service providers such as AWS, Azure and creatively solving business problems in cloud environments. * Understanding and experience of widely used DevOps tooling, including Git, Jira and Confluence software (or similar) * Understanding and experience of infrastructure as code, such as Terraform, Ansible or similar. * Understanding and experience of how testing works within a CI/CD pipeline, including automated testing * Experience of Kubernetes and containerisation * Experience of Linux operating systems, including shell script. * Experience of working with teams utilising at least 3 of the below: * Kubernetes and containerisation tooling (e.g. SUSE Rancher, RKE2, EKS, AKS, Yaml, Helm, Docker) * .NET (C#, ASP.NET, .NET CORE) * JavaScript (REACT, Bootstrap Frameworks, node.js) * Databases (SQL) * NoSQL technologies e.g. Elasticsearch * GitOps Desirables * Experience of Agile ways of working (SAFE Agile). * Awareness of ICT security best practice. * Excellent written and clear technical documentation writing skills. * Organisational skills, the ability to pay attention to detail. * Highly motivated and determined to contribute to the mission. Engages in continuous learning to become a subject matter expert, particularly in relevant technologies. * Works co-operatively with others, developing positive working relationships with customers, colleagues and stakeholders (including senior colleagues). * Leadership or team development experience. ## Description Band M As a Senior Developer or Senior DevSecOps Engineer in TIDE you will manage a team of developers to design, build, secure and/or maintain new capabilities in support of CTP's digital collection and exploitation activity. You will advance capability development and cloud delivery via CTP's digital capability including working across on-premises infrastructure as well as cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure. You will enable efficient deployment of both in-house and commercial applications and support the migration of on-premises solutions to cloud enabled environments. Your team will be responsible for enabling efficient and safe access to digital capability tooling, including the continuous improvement of the digital capability delivery platform, development and test environments. This role is aligned to the Senior DevOps Engineer set out within the Digital and Data Profession Capability Framework (DDAT). At this role level, you will: * transform technical requirements into an effective DevOps toolchain to enable product delivery * provide coaching and mentoring to more junior colleagues * ensure that deployment strategies for products are repeatable, scalable and highly available * have deep technical knowledge, providing support to delivery teams and solving complex problems * work on a variety of platforms and tools so being a lifelong learner with the ability to quickly learn technical skills are key to your success., * Take a leading role in the development and operation of the DevOps pipeline: * Testing and deploying product updates. * Identifying and resolving issues. * Implementing integrations. * Improving automation and monitoring. * Being the technical product owner for some parts of the pipeline. * Provide project oversight to ensure standards are met. * Work with developers and engineers to ensure that software development follows established processes and works as intended. * Ensure personal and team workload is effectively managed, prioritised and issues are escalated to line management as necessary. * Ensure adherence to required polices, standards, controls and best practice. * Create, maintain and review technical documentation to ensure all services are maintained and knowledge is shared. * Proactively monitor DevOps environments to help prevent issues arising. * Proactively drive continuous improvement across the DevOps pipeline. * Assist in mentoring and developing the team. * Deputise for the Lead DevOps Engineer as required.
