## About the Role

* Bachelor's degree, or equivalent practical experience.
 * 8 years of experience in software development.
 * 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
 * 2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.
 * Experience in designing, developing, and architecting large-scale distributed systems, managed cloud services, or relational databases., * Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
 * 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.
 * Experience working with or building backend infrastructure to support AI applications and complex production Agentic workloads.
 * Deep experience in designing, implementing, or operating enterprise-grade database management systems (DBMS), particularly PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.
 * Demonstrated experience architecting highly available, secure, and resilient systems, including advanced disaster recovery (DR), cross-region replication, or serverless platforms.

## Description

* Manage, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of software engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, psychological safety, and innovation.
 * Define and execute the long-term technical goal for the Platform for the Agentic era.
 * Oversee the end-to-end design, implementation, and operational reliability of major components across the AlloyDB platform stack to support production-grade Agentic workloads.
 * Collaborate closely with Product Managers and UX to define product roadmaps and translate customer requirements into scalable engineering solutions.
 * Drive technical alignment and successful integrations by collaborating with various engineering teams across the broader Google Cloud organization.
