Essential Skills & Experience

 * Formal IT qualification (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
 * Demonstrable ICT support experience with basic networking knowledge
 * Understanding of cabling and connectivity technologies
 * Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
 * Ability to work independently and use initiative
 * Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills
 * Experience supporting Microsoft Operating Systems and Microsoft Office applications

Technical Knowledge

 * Microsoft 365 and Azure awareness
 * VMware and Hyper-V virtualisation technologies
 * Virtual Private Networks (VPNs)
 * Firewalls and network security concepts
 * Windows Server environments (2016, 2019 and above)
 * Network printing
 * Backup and recovery concepts
 * PowerShell scripting awareness
 * Physical server hardware maintenance

Essential Requirement

 * Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes, * Hands-on experience across infrastructure, networking, cloud, and end-user support
 * Exposure to Microsoft 365, Azure, VMware, Hyper-V, and cybersecurity technologies
 * Support towards higher-level networking development and training, * ICT support: 2 years (required)
 * troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills: 2 years (required)
 * cabling and connectivity technologies: 2 years (required)
 * M OS and Microsoft Office applications: 1 year (required)
 * Microsoft 365 and Azure awareness: 1 year (required)

Licence/Certification:

 * Driving Licence (required)

## Description

* Provide support for the Council's IT infrastructure, hardware, software, and network services
 * Install, configure, and maintain PCs, laptops, and desktop hardware
 * Support Microsoft Windows 10, Windows 11, and Microsoft Office applications
 * Assist with onboarding new users and resolving IT support issues
 * Create and manage user accounts following authorised instructions
 * Support user and email management on Microsoft Exchange
 * Assist with monitoring network performance and infrastructure capacity planning
 * Build, prepare, and maintain IT equipment in accordance with Council procedures
 * Create and support virtual machines
 * Maintain accurate hardware and software asset databases
 * Support ICT projects and complete research activities as required
 * Develop understanding of cyber security threats and monitoring tools
