## About the Role

You'll need a solid mechanical design background and a good understanding of how your designs translate into manufacture and fabrication.

Experience within offshore, subsea, lifting equipment, pressure vessels or structural engineering would be useful, but you don't need to tick every box.

SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD experience is important. Exposure to ANSYS, Mathcad or FEA would also be beneficial.

An HND, degree or equivalent engineering background would suit the role.

## Description

If you're a Design Engineer who wants to do more than sit behind CAD producing drawings, this could be a good move.

This is a hands-on mechanical design role where you'll take ownership of your work from initial concept through to detailed design and project delivery.

You'll be joining an engineering team working on technically interesting mechanical and structural projects. That means developing concepts, completing engineering calculations, carrying out FEA and producing the drawings and documentation needed to turn designs into something that can actually be manufactured and delivered.

You'll also have exposure to customers, suppliers and project teams, so they're looking for someone who can think through engineering problems rather than simply work from instructions.

The role will include:

 * Mechanical and structural design
 * Developing concepts into detailed engineering solutions
 * 2D and 3D CAD using SolidWorks and AutoCAD
 * Engineering calculations and FEA
 * Producing manufacturing drawings and technical documentation
 * Supporting and presenting design reviews
 * Working with customers, suppliers and internal project teams
 * Managing your own design workload against project deadlines
