Preferred Experience * Experience with babbitt or white-metal bearings, journal bearings, thrust bearings, labyrinth seals, and related components. * Familiarity with API standards and the requirements of oil and gas operators and service companies. * Experience supporting urgent breakdown, outage, and turnaround requirements. * Existing relationships within the Houston-area oil and gas, turbomachinery, or rotating-equipment service market. * Experience working with repair workshops, OEM-alternative solutions, reverse engineering, or engineered replacement components. ## Description The successful candidate will combine strong technical knowledge of rotating equipment with a practical understanding of oil and gas customers, repair facilities, service providers, and aftermarket supply chains. The role will involve reviewing customer requirements, developing engineered repair and replacement solutions, preparing technical and commercial proposals, and supporting projects from initial enquiry through delivery. This position is suited to an engineer who is comfortable working directly with customers and translating operational problems into technically sound, commercially competitive solutions., * Review customer enquiries, drawings, specifications, inspection reports, and equipment operating data. * Develop technical solutions for the repair, refurbishment, replacement, and improvement of rotating-equipment components. * Prepare accurate technical and commercial quotations in coordination with sales, operations, quality, and supply-chain teams. * Support aftermarket requirements for turbines, compressors, pumps, motors, generators, gearboxes, and other rotating equipment. * Provide engineering support for fluid-film bearings, including journal bearings, thrust bearings, seals, and related components. * Work closely with oil and gas operators, OEMs, repair workshops, turbomachinery specialists, distributors, and independent service providers. * Conduct technical discussions with customers to understand equipment condition, failure history, operating parameters, delivery requirements, and commercial priorities. * Evaluate repair-versus-replacement options and recommend appropriate engineering solutions. * Support reverse engineering, material selection, dimensional review, manufacturing methods, and repair procedures. * Coordinate technical clarifications and ensure that quotations clearly define scope, exclusions, assumptions, lead times, and deliverables. * Assist sales personnel during customer visits, technical presentations, and opportunity-development meetings. * Maintain regular follow-up on open quotations and support the conversion of qualified opportunities into orders. * Provide clear technical handover to operations following order receipt. * Monitor project progress and assist in resolving technical or scope-related issues. * Develop long-term relationships with aftermarket customers and service-provider accounts. * Maintain accurate opportunity, quotation, and customer information within the company's CRM and reporting systems. * Identify recurring customer requirements and opportunities for repair programs, service agreements, and strategic account development., We are looking for a practical and commercially minded engineer who: * Takes ownership of customer enquiries and follows them through to completion. * Responds quickly and professionally to urgent aftermarket requirements. * Can communicate effectively with maintenance teams, reliability engineers, procurement personnel, workshop teams, and senior decision-makers. * Is comfortable challenging unclear requirements and obtaining the technical information needed to prepare an accurate proposal. * Builds customer confidence through technical competence, responsiveness, and reliable follow-up. * Works collaboratively with sales and operations while maintaining clear accountability. * Recognizes opportunities to expand individual enquiries into long-term customer relationships.
