These systems synthesize and industrialize our global understanding into a hive mind of macroeconomic knowledge which enables us to educate and collaborate with the world's most influential central banks and policy makers and carefully and strategically manage the world's most important capital. Our technologists are engineering highly available, high performing, and highly secure cloud platforms and infrastructure which support and scale our investing operations. About the Team The goal of the Portfolio and Trading teams is to translate our understanding of how the global economy works into strategy specific portfolios and execute those investment decisions with maximum precision, efficiency, and reliability. Working alongside the Portfolio team is a uniquely talented technology group that builds and manages the platforms that allow our portfolio strategists, investors, and operations teams to create and test new portfolio strategies and logic, construct portfolios, and manifest our desired portfolios to securities we can trade in the markets. Working alongside our Trading team are technologists who design, build, and maintain the systems that power execution, data flow, and real-time decision-making across global markets. They work closely with investors and traders to optimize performance, automate processes, and ensure the firm's strategies are implemented with speed, accuracy, and resilience. About the Role We are hiring a "Sr. Software Engineer, Infrastructure" into this team, sitting at the intersection of software engineering, testing strategy, and platform architecture, with a strong emphasis on agentic development loops and minimizing latency and downtime in production. You will own the platforms and pipelines that turn our portfolio logic into executed trades, treating infrastructure as a first-class software problem. You will be equally at home hardening production systems and building the testing environments that let engineers and autonomous agents ship changes quickly and safely, taking end-to-end ownership rather than working within a narrow, traditional IT role. Success means faster, more confident delivery for our Portfolio Implementation teams, with production latency and downtime driven toward zero. You Will Drive the Following Responsibilities * Own critical infrastructure and application services end-to-end, from design through deployment and long-term operation. * Build and govern the production pipelines that construct, validate, and execute portfolios, engineered for reliability and low latency. * Design the environments and frameworks that let engineers and autonomous agents validate changes rapidly and safely. * Accelerate agentic development loops through automation, tooling, and self-service platforms. * Instrument systems for observability and continuously drive down latency, failure rates, and mean time to recovery., Our culture is anchored in excellence, meaning constant improvement, and it is deeply tied to our mission. Because markets are objective, competitive, and getting smarter everyday, we need to keep rapidly improving to have any chance of beating them. Truth is our most essential tool for engaging with the markets and constantly improving because once you know what's true about your problems and opportunities, you can determine how to get better. Valuing truth means being transparent about your decision-making and mistakes, giving and receiving feedback with humility, and fighting for the best answers over hierarchy, ego, or self-interest. Operating this way is hard - it's only possible because we build meaning in our work and relationships. This meaning comes from the audacity of the mission, and the joy of working alongside people who make you a better version of yourself. The culture, like Bridgewater itself, is always evolving. In 1997 our founder Ray Dalio wrote down his lessons, starting with a Philosophy Statement which remains our foundation. This later evolved into a set of 300+ Principles. In 2022, when Ray transitioned the company, we re-underwrote several of those principles and evolved others, with a specific focus on Meritocracy. Today the culture sits, alongside our people, as our most important edge. When we get it right, it's the engine that powers everything else. ## Related Videos - [Reducing Cognitive Overload Through Platform Engineering](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/679-reducing-cognitive-overload-through-platform-engineering) - [Swapping Low Latency Data Storage Under High Load](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/746-swapping-low-latency-data-storage-under-high-load) - [Thinking Differently - How to Make Money from Cyber Attacks & Cheats](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/745-thinking-differently-how-to-make-money-from-cyber-attacks-cheats) - [Python-Based Data Streaming Pipelines Within Minutes](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1233-python-based-data-streaming-pipelines-within-minutes) - [Enterprise-Cloud-Native - Fast-Paced Development & Deployment in a Highly Secure Banking Environment](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/671-enterprise-cloud-native-fast-paced-development-deployment-in-a-highly-secure-banking-environment) - [Unleash the power of 5G in your code: transform your apps](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1567-unleash-the-power-of-5g-in-your-code-transform-your-apps) ## Related Articles - [How We Built a Worry-Free System That Runs for 10+ Years – And What We’d Do Again](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/751-how-we-built-a-worry-free-system-that-runs-for-10-years-and-what-we-d-do-again) - [Highest Paying Tech Companies for Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/220-highest-paying-tech-companies-for-developers) - [The Best X (Twitter) Accounts for Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/294-the-best-x-twitter-accounts-for-developers) - [Is Software Engineering Hard?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/448-is-software-engineering-hard) - [Is Software Engineering Over-Saturated?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/418-is-software-engineering-over-saturated) - [The Best Software Developer Blogs to Read](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/156-the-best-software-developer-blogs-to-read)
