## About the Role

* Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
 * 6+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including but not limited to: data centers, power generation or oil and gas facilities experience
 * Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment
 * Experience developing solutions and executing plans on complex projects
 * Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities, * Professional Engineering or Architectural License
 * Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region
 * Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production
 * Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents

## Description

* Work with internal partner teams to solicit customer input and define design requirements for product design.
 * Lead new product design, development and qualification of critical electrical power distribution equipment for AWS data centers, including medium voltage switchgear, medium voltage transformers, low voltage switchgear, generators, busduct, transfer switches, power distribution cabinets, and other electrical infrastructure.
 * Develop Capex and Opex spending budgets taking into account development costs with vendors, prototyping needs, testing and specialized tooling requirements.
 * Work with global suppliers and manufacturers to specify appropriate electrical equipment and components, ensuring tier 2-3 supply chain resiliency.
 * Ensure compliance with UL, CSA, IEC and federal, state and municipal requirements and building codes across different countries through appropriate levels of testing.
 * Validate design through prototype, pre-production and first-of-kind builds, conducting DFx and value engineering analysis through each step and updating design and documentation.
 * Work with field engineering and commissioning teams to properly test and validate installation, operation, and performance of electrical products.
 * Provide support for manufacturing activities for new products on concurrent projects in multiple geographical locations.
 * Be a leader within the product development team as well as within internal and external teams that support the data center.
